Generally speaking, I hate Valentine's Day.
I hated it when I was single.
I hate it now that I'm married.
The unrealistic expectations, the inevitable disappointment.
Please don't get me wrong:
I am very happily married to the sweetest, funniest man I know.
But I still hate Valentine's Day.
However, I love hearts.
And red and pink are my top 2 favorite colors.
And there's just something about little girls in pink
that just does me in.
I love the Valentine's "crafts" my daughter brings home
from Mother's Day Out.
Today I dressed her in pink and took her to "school".
When I dropped her off, they were working on another
Valentine craft. She went right in, checked it all out,
grabbed the giant pink heart and ran to the doorway to me.
She just wanted to show me:
Look, Mommy! Look what we're doing today!
So maybe I love Valentine's Day.
Just a little.
Here's the Valentine's pic I took of Karis, my BFF's baby:

Honestly, this is one of my favorite portraits I've ever done.
Could she be any sweeter?
And now here's MY Funny Valentine:

Oh, I tried for a "perfect picture" like the one I took of Karis.
But this funny girl had other plans.
She is silly & sweet & absolutely captures the heart
of everyone who meets her.
And this picture is just so her.
Love that I don't have to ask her to Be Mine...
because she already is.
Thank you, Lord.
