10 Things I Love About You

1. I love how much you love those tiny rubber ducks- all 5 of them.
You carry them all over the house with you:

2. I love how inquisitive you are:

3. I love how you suddenly one day just discovered the blinds on the window
and how you remain so curious about them:

4. I love burrowing my nose into your little neck and breathing deeply.
I love how you love to do the same thing to me.

*this photo was taking by my brother, Mark*

5. I love your eyelashes:

6. I love how you love giving kisses to everyone and everything
from the dog to your babydoll to your best friend Jemma.

7. I love how much you love books.
You stare at them and turn the pages and sometimes even kiss them.

8. I love how you only have 2 teeth, but have this crazy amount of hair.
I love how you can play quite independently,
but then you rush over to me and put your head in my lap
for just a second, and then rush off to play again.

9. I LOVE how much you love stuffed animals.

10. I love how the whole world can tell that you are ridiculously happy
by how wide open your mouth is.

Once Upon A Birthday Party...

Thank you, Kat, for making all those cupcakes for me!
FROM SCRATCH!
I owe you big time!

...and they all lived happily ever after!

***Many, many thanks to my mom, my brother, and our friend Don for all the great pics. (His wife Kelly has some more pics up on her blog too!) I did not take one pic all day (weird feeling). But I did play with them all in Photoshop. Because I'm obsessive like that. This party would not have been half as cute if it had not been for my girlfriends Kat, Becky, & Karen. Don't know what I would have done without you girls!

Kissing Babies

True confession: in my family, kissing on the lips is considered normal.
Are y'all TOTALLY weirded out right now?
Calm down, we don't ALL kiss each other.
It has come to my attention that there are 2 kinds of families.
In ours, a quick peck on the lips to your parents or grandparents is acceptable.
But there are other families in which that is considered
bizarre and unacceptable behavior.

Naturally, I kiss Elizabeth on the lips.
She loves giving kisses.
If I say, "Give mama a kiss", she leans in & does that little delightful hum first:
"mmmmmm....MUAH!"
Adorable.
In addition to people, she loves to kiss dogs, cats, stuffed animals, & baby dolls.

So Becky and Chris were hanging out at our house last night.
We were trying to get some cute shots of E patting B's belly,
where Karis now resides.
So, then we thought- oh it'd be so cute to get one of her kissing baby Karis.

Here is E giving baby Karis some pats:

And then.
We were saying, "Give the baby a kiss",
and naturally my child leans in to give Miss Becky a kiss.
Please look at her leaning in and know that she is humming
"mmmmmmm...",
waiting and waiting for Miss Becky to give her a kiss on the lips:

And meanwhile B is backing up her face & laughing hysterically because:
she comes from one of those non-kissing-on-the-lips families.
Sad, but true.
My child got DENIED.
I mean, B, come on. How can you resist those lips? ;)

Chris tried to teach E to give a high five.
I'm pretty sure Becky would be OK with high fives.

So, tell me, in your family, do you kiss
your parents or grandparents on the lips?
Or do you that is just totally bizarre?
And if you think it's totally bizarre,
I hope you never meet Ryan's grandmother who lives in East Texas.
She will straight up kiss you on the lips every time.
I can't WAIT for her to meet Becky.

Our little sugar plum turned one last Tuesday. Still have to post more pics from the party. Don't worry, I haven't forgotten! ;)
