I used to blog about my life.
And then I started a photography business.
And now I only post "sneak peeks" from photo sessions.
BOR-ING.
OK, just kidding about the boring part. Yes, I'm starting a photography business, so there will be things related to that here on the blog. But it's called The Craig Life for a reason. I didn't realize until the last few days how much I missed just blogging about my life (and showing you pics of my super cute baby). I don't journal, and am terrible about scrapbooking (though I always have the full intention to start any day now), so this little blog also acts as my journal of sorts. I have a terrible memory and don't want to forget a thing about these early days with my firstborn. Thanks for indulging me.
So, we're in Mississippi right now visiting my mom and grandma and other family. Elizabeth is the only great-grandchild right now on my mom's side of the family, so she gets LOTS of love and attention when we're here.

Elizabeth loves to snuggle with her great-grandmother.
I grew up calling her "grandma", but she decided she wanted a different grandmother name now that she's a GREAT-grandmother, so she's picked "Mimi".

Elizabeth loves, and I mean LOVES dogs.
Here she is on the kitchen floor with my mama.

Sweet kisses for the doggie.
Or she thinks she's a vampire.
I could've sworn she was asleep
when we had our Twilight/New Moon
movie marathon the other night.

You probably can't tell it from this pic,
but this is her happy face.
I'm pretty sure she's laughing hysterically here.

ooooooo...what's in here?

behold...the fridge.

"I GOT A CHEESE STICK! "
Further thoughts on these pics:
1. She got eaten alive by a mosquito last week- hence the marks on her nose and legs.
2. Do you see her red little knees in that last pic? Yes, baby girl is FINALLY crawling.
3. I should use my flash more often. Here's the deal, I hate flash. When I'm taking "good pictures", I NEVER use my flash. The problem with me, is now that I'm trying to take "good pictures" all the time, and starting a photography business, I never just throw the camera into auto and take snapshots. Which is just sad. Some of my favorite pictures are just goofy snapshots. But lately, I've felt the need to get portfolio worthy pictures every time I've got the camera in my hand. Elizabeth has a photographer for a mom, so she's going to end up with great portraits of herself growing up. But, I also want her to have those fabulous snapshots of her on the kitchen floor with her grandmother. I turned the flash on for those first pics, but then off for the next ones. Which was stupid. I shoulda left it on. Not every picture I take needs to go in my portfolio. So, I'm just gonna let that go. Another thing I'm gonna let go of? The need to photoshop every picture I take. Seriously, y'all, I've become such a perfectionist lately, and I don't like that. I didn't edit any of these. And that's FINE because they're just snapshots of my baby having fun.
